De cellist Anton Pavlovsky en de pianist Sergey Basukinsky behoren tot de absolute top van Rusland en genieten ook internationaal bekendheid. Hun virtuositeit, passie en scherpzinnigheid staan garant voor een intense muzikale belevenis die een blijvende herinnering nalaat. Anton Pavlovsky en Sergey Basukinsky zijn opgegroeid met de klassieke Russische muziektradities, die hun inspiratiebron werden voor de gepassioneerde en betoverende wijze waarop zij composities uit diverse tijdperken vertolken.
Anton Pavlovsky (geb. 1985) kreeg reeds op jonge leeftijd de mogelijkheid deel te nemen aan masterclasses van Mstislav Rostropovitsj. Zijn fenomenale talent ontwikkelde zich onder het toeziend oog van de grootmeester. Zoals deze in 1950 het Praagse Lente Concours had gewonnen, zo stond Anton in 2006 als winnaar op het podium. Hierna wist hij talloze internationale concoursen op zijn naam te zetten. Naast zijn nationale en internationale solo-optredens werkt Anton als eerste cellist in het Russische Staatsorkest o.l.v. Vladimir Jurovski.
Anton Pavlovsky was born in 1985 in Ufa, Russia. He graduated from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory (2008) and completed his postgraduate studies (2011) under Professor Natalia Shahovskaya. Anton has played in masterclasses for Mstislav Rostropovich, Daniel Shafran, Mikhail Khomitser, David Geringas, Lluis Claret, Dmitry Ferschtmann, Sergey Roldugin.
Anton has been a prize-winner at numerous international music competitions, among them the 58th Prague Spring International Music Competition, 1st International Kozolupov cello competition, 5th UNISA International String Competition.
Anton Pavlovsky as a soloist performs with many orchestras including the National Philharmonic of Russia, Prague Symphony Orchaestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Saint Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, Staatsorchester Braunschweig; he has worked with such conductors as Vladimir Spivakov, Charles Olivieri-Munroe, Conrad van Alphen, Alexander Sladkovsky, Nikolai Dyadura, Alexander Joel, Valery Platonov.
The cellist gives frequent recitals in Russia and throughout Europe, Asia and the CIS, and his name has featured on the playbills of such major music festivals as Kronberg Cello Festival, „The Virtuosos of the Planet“ (Kiev), Musical Olimpus Festival (Saint Petersburg), Festival International de Colmar.
The young musician devotes much of his time to chamber music. He has recently been partnered outstanding musicians including David Geringas, Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Hayk Kazazyan, Dmitry Kaprin, Alexander Bouzlov.
Anton plays a Lorenzo Guadagnini cello. In 2012 Anton was appointed the position of the Principal cello at the State academic symphony orchestra „Evgeny Svetlanov“ under the Artistic direction of Vladimir Jurowski.

Sergey Basukinsky (geb. 1985) werd op 13-jarige leeftijd winnaar van het Jeugd Tsjaikovsky Concours, waarna de beroemde pianist Michail Pletnev hem als zijn leerling aannam. Al tijdens zijn studie aan het Conservatorium van Moskou speelde Sergey in de bekendste concertzalen van Europa, Amerika en Japan. In 2009 won hij de Royal scholarship voor The Royal College of Music in Londen, waar hij zijn masterstudie met de hoogste onderscheiding voltooide. Momenteel woont Sergey in Londen waar hij als solopianist optreedt.
Born in Russia, Sergei Basukinsky started playing the piano at the age of 6 in his native town Lipetsk. By the age 12 he became a prizewinner of international competitions which include Tchaikovsky Junior International piano competition (1 prize) , Safonov Piano competition (1 prize), ‘A Step to Mastery’ International piano competition (1 prize), Igumnov Competition (3 prize), Vladimir Krainev International Competition (special prize).
He studied at the Central Music School, Moscow and later at the Moscow State Conservatory. In 2009 Sergei moved to London where he completed with distinction a Masters of Music degree at the Royal College of Music with generous support of Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABSRM. org) and Martin Music Scholarship Fund (MMSF). During his years as a student, Sergei’s had lessons with outstanding musicians Gordon Fergus-Thompson, Naum Schtarkman, Mikhail Pletnev, Olga Potasheva, Sergey Dorensky.
The pianist made his debut at the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory at the age of 13, where he performed at the Opening Ceremony of Tchaikovsky International Competition and later same year (1998) he appeared as a soloist with Russian National Orchestra (Mikhail Pletnev), having played Grieg Concerto. Other major venues where the pianist performed include Salle Gaveau, Paris, NHK Hall, Osaka, Kioi Hall, Tokyo, Kyoto Concert Hall, Great Hall of Saint Petersburg Philarmony.
Sergei Basukinsky has taken part in festivals such as ‘The New Century of Russian Piano’, ‘Japan-Russia Concert Project’ (imea. or. jp), ‘Pianos Enghiens’, ‘Shostakovich project’, ‘Mon Repos Nights’ and others in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Russia, Japan and United States of America.
Sergei’s repertoire comprises solo and chamber music from baroque to contemporary, mainly focusing on 19th century western European and Russian music. The pianist currently lives and works in London.
Dit jaar komt zij naar Nederland met een veelzijdig programma. De sonate in C van Sergey Prokofiev is een van de meest lumineuze stukken dat ooit voor cello is geschreven.
Ter gelegenheid van het 100-jarige jubileum van Benjamin Britten zullen zij zijn sonate in C spelen. Britten werd zeer geinspireerd door het spel van Mstislaw Rostropowitsj en hij heeft in 1960 een cellosonate gecomponeerd en aan hem opgedragen.
De musici zullen het indrukwekkende “Fratres” van de hedendaagse componist Arvo Part laten horen. Deze compositie heeft een bijna religieuze, meditatieve stemming en kan in de muziek tot het sacraal minimalisme gerekend worden.
Ook zullen er twee stukken opgevoerd worden van de Russische zeer gewaardeerde componist Rodion Shchedrin. Zijn 80e verjaardag werd in 2012 in de muziekwereld groots gevierd. Zijn talent is zeer veelzijdig. Hij componeert opera's, balletten, symfonieen, en muziek voor films.
